Recap: Andrews Yellowjackets vs. Kingstree Blazers

The Andrews Yellowjackets were the 67-59 winner over the Kingstree Blazers when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Andrews was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 48-47 to Kingstree. Andrews has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Andrews' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Chris Stewart, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Sharod Sumpter who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stewart has scored all season. Brandon Cumbee was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Kingstree can attribute much of their success to Ja'Shaun Dorsey, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Micheal Kelly, who scored eight points.

Andrews now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Kingstree, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Mullins the next time they take the court. Andrews will host Mullins at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Kingstree will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
