Basketball Recap: Lutheran Piles Up the Points Against Cheyenne Mountain

There's no place like home for Lutheran, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They really took it to the Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-18 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-8.

Berkley Schneider was her usual excellent self, going 6 of 14 on her way to 15 points along with eight boards and three steals. Mikaela-Zoe Colon was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.

Lutheran smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Lutheran moved to 4-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Lutheran will head out to face off against Palmer Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Palmer Ridge will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Lutheran surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-52 victory against Niwot on the 18th.
