Recap: Elkhorn Antlers vs. York Dukes
The Elkhorn Antlers lost to the York Dukes back in December of 2022, but the Elkhorn Antlers didn't allow the York Dukes the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Elkhorn strolled past York with points to spare, taking the game 40-22. That's two games straight that Elkhorn has won by exactly 18 points.
Despite the loss, York still got an impressive performance from Lainey Portwine, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and six steals. That's the first time this season that Portwine pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Even though they lost, York were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Elkhorn now has a winning record of 3-2. As for York, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elkhorn will square off against Wahoo at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Wahoo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Friday. York will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Aurora. Aurora will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 195th, while York is ranked 49th).
