Montezuma-Cortez entered their tilt with Centauri on Thursday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They blew past the Falcons 14-0. Considering the Panthers have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Tegan Mestas tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Parker Conrad, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Istenes, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Montezuma-Cortez's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Centauri, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Montezuma-Cortez beat Centauri by a score of 18-1 later that day.
