Basketball Game Preview: Westfield Bulldogs vs. Centreville Wildcats

The Westfield Bulldogs will face off against the Centreville Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Westfield beat Oakton 71-67. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Cougars are ranked 116th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Centreville hadn't done well against James Madison recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Centreville managed a 53-49 victory over James Madison.

Centreville now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Westfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Westfield didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Centreville when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 67-61 win. Will Westfield repeat their success, or does Centreville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
