Basketball Recap: Oakland Comes Up Short

Oakland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 65-60 heartbreaker at the hands of the Siegel Stars. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Stars are ranked 101st).

Oakland's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Siegel, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oakland has already played their next game (against Blackman), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Siegel is taking a road trip to challenge Rockvale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rockvale has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
