Football Game Preview: Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders vs. Sanderson Spartans + How To Watch

Cardinal Gibbons has gone a perfect 8-0 against Sanderson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Crusaders will host the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Cardinal Gibbons knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Sanderson likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Cardinal Gibbons made easy work of Middle Creek and carried off a 40-14 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-6.

Cardinal Gibbons had a senior duo take command as Connor McGeehan picked up 163 receiving yards and three TDs and Conner Lindsey threw for 214 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.2% of his passes. Those 163 receiving yards set a new season-high mark for McGeehan. Noah Terry handled things on the ground, rushing for 81 yards.

Meanwhile, Sanderson played in-conference for the first time on Friday and got just the result they were looking for. They walked away with a 24-14 victory over Holly Springs.

Sanderson's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Cardinal Gibbons, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Everything came up roses for Cardinal Gibbons against Sanderson when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 41-7 win. In that game, the Crusaders amassed a halftime lead of 34-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
