Football Recap: Anthony Lorenz and Cole Margetts Secure Win for Bonita Vista

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bonita Vista). They managed a 17-13 win over the Vincent Memorial Scots on Friday. For the Barons, this counts as revenge for the 25-16 victory the Scots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

A big part of Bonita Vista's win came down to the chemistry between Anthony Lorenz and his top target Cole Margetts. Lorenz threw for 85 yards and two TDs on only seven passes while Margetts picked up 67 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Margetts' longest reception was for an impressive 51 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total.

Bonita Vista's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Vincent Memorial, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Bonita Vista will host Crawford at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Vincent Memorial, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Coastal Academy at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
