Football Recap: Columbia Wildcats vs. Canyon Ridge Riverhawks
Columbia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 23-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Canyon Ridge Riverhawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 40-34 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
Columbia wouldn't let Canyon Ridge keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Columbia can thank Angel Arambula and Matthew Koeppen for forcing both of them. Arambula also set a new season high mark in total tackles with seven.
The critical scores for Canyon Ridge came from David Rothweiler, Kade Mcentire, and Paityn Rorris.
Columbia's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Canyon Ridge, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
As of now, neither Columbia nor Canyon Ridge have any future games scheduled.
