Football Game Preview: Reagan Raiders vs. Grimsley Whirlies + How To Watch

Reagan is 0-4 against Grimsley since August of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Raiders are taking a road trip to challenge the Whirlies at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Reagan is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They slipped by Mooresville 32-31. The victory was nothing new for the Raiders as they're now sitting on three straight.

John Evans Jr. continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 266 yards and two scores while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 61 yards. Eli Davis was in the mix too, providing Reagan with two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Reagan was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 336 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 245 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Reagan didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Keston Greene and Seven Glover. Glover has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last four times he's played. King Kalama was another major factor on D, picking up 1.5 sacks and making nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Grimsley's strategy against Jack Britt on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Whirlies blew the Buccaneers out of the water with a 55-12 final score. The Whirlies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by 27 points or more this season.

Reagan's record is now 10-2. As for Grimsley, their record now sits at 12-0.

Reagan was taken down by Grimsley 42-7 when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
