Softball Game Preview: South Fayette Lions vs. Moon Area Tigers

The South Fayette Lions will face off against the Moon Area Tigers at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. South Fayette is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

It was a proper cat-fight when South Fayette faced off against Upper St. Clair on Monday. The Lions came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 8-5. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly three runs.

Meanwhile, Moon Area can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They skirted past Montour 4-2.

Katie DeMarco spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cami Chambers, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kendall Trexler, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

South Fayette's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Moon Area, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-4.
