Basketball Game Preview: Burges Mustangs vs. Loretto Angels

The Burges Mustangs will head out to challenge the Loretto Angels at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Burges will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Burges is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Ysleta 74-13 on Tuesday. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 441st, while the Indians are ranked 1278th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Loretto's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 41-30 to Canutillo.

Loretto now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Burges, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Burges took their victory against Loretto in their previous matchup back in November of 2018 by a conclusive 63-43. Will Burges repeat their success, or does Loretto have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
