Softball Recap: Bauxite's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

It was a good run, but Bauxite unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 7-3 to the White Hall Bulldogs. The Miners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Bauxite got a good showing from Bianca Battistone, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits.

At the plate, Alysia Garner was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

Bauxite's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for White Hall, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5-1.

Bauxite has already played their next game, a 1-0 win against Quitman on the 17th. As for White Hall, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-5 defeat against Greenbrier on the 15th.
