Recap: Collinsville Cardinals vs. Booker T. Washington Hornets
It was a good run, but the Collinsville Cardinals unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Booker T. Washington by a score of 56-53. Collinsville has struggled against Booker T. Washington recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Booker T. Washington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joc Mitchell, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Mitchell has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Sanders, who scored 12 points.
Collinsville's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-4. As for Booker T. Washington, they pushed their record up to 17-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Collinsville will take on East Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Collinsville is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than East Central in Oklahoma (Collinsville is ranked 37th, while East Central is ranked 198th). Booker T. Washington's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bishop Kelley at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. Booker T. Washington has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,407 points over their last 18 games.
