The D'Evelyn Jaguars will square off against the Conifer Lobos at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Tuesday, D'Evelyn got the win against Wheat Ridge by a conclusive 14-1. The win continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Farmers: they've now won eight in a row.
Jack Meiser was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, Ryan Kim and Leo Vigil did most of the damage at the plate: Kim scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Vigil scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Vigil a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Thomas Sweetman, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Conifer posted their closest victory since April 11, 2024 on Saturday. They skirted past Pomona 10-9. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lobos.
Like D'Evelyn, Conifer also got a great game from a two-way player: Luke Adams. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Adams was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Murphy, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Joey Merrion was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Conifer was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
D'Evelyn picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-9. As for Conifer, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.
D'Evelyn came up short against Conifer when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 4-1. Can the Jaguars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
