Game recap: East Mecklenburg can't stop Butler's winning streak

Butler (Matthews, N.C.) extended its winning streak to six games with a 60-0 victory over East Mecklenburg (Charlotte, N.C.) on Saturday.The Bulldogs were up 26-0 at the half after taking the lead on a Zach Gross touchdown pass to Josh Glisson in the first quarter.

Butler expanded its lead to 53 points entering the fourth quarter. BHS scored four times in the third, including once on a Glisson touchdown run.

The Matthews school's standout player in the win was Glisson. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns and caught two touchdowns.

The Bulldogs went into the matchup giving up only 6.2 points per game.



Butler also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 45-0.

In a 4A Southwestern game next week Butler (6-0) takes on Ardrey Kell, and East Mecklenburg (0-7) will go up against Rocky River also in a 4A Southwestern game.
