Softball Recap: Mount Tabor Spartans vs. North Davidson Knights

Mount Tabor extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-7. They lost 17-1 to the North Davidson Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 two weeks ago.

Mount Tabor saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karson Key, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

As for North Davidson, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games.

On North Davidson's side, Bryton Zimmerman was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave Zimmerman a new career-high. Kerrigan Edmonds was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBI.

Coming up, Mount Tabor is taking a road trip to face off against West Forsyth at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans' pitching crew has only allowed 1.4 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for North Davidson, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Reagan at 7:00 p.m.
