Softball Recap: Lyons Lions vs. Republic County Buffaloes
Lyons extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-4 in the process. They fell 13-8 to the Republic County Buffaloes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buffaloes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-8 on Thursday.

Sierra Belote made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Avery Goforth, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
As for Republic County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-10. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games.
On Republic County's side, the team relied heavily on Jacqalyn Parde, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Parde has posted since back in April of 2024. Drew Skocny was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Lyons does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Republic County, they will challenge Sacred Heart at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
