Basketball Game Preview: Plainfield East Bengals vs. Joliet West Tigers

Plainfield East hasn't had much luck against Joliet West recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Plainfield East Bengals will be playing at home against the Joliet West Tigers at 6:30 p.m.

Plainfield East is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since January 27th on Tuesday. They took a blow against Plainfield South, falling 64-36. The game marked the Bengals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Joliet West had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They claimed a resounding 63-35 win over the Cougars. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 28 points or more this season.

Joliet West pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Plainfield East, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Plainfield East ended up a good deal behind Joliet West in their previous meeting back in February, losing 73-55. Can Plainfield East avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
