Football Recap: Fairfield Takes a Loss

Fairfield and PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central/Greenview squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Fairfield had to settle for second. They and PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central/Greenview were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 9-8 loss. Having soared to a lofty 44 points in the game before, the Mules couldn't push the score so high this time.

When it comes to explaining why Fairfield lost, don't look at Michael Barner. Despite the final result, he rushed for 166 yards and one score while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Barner is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 107 every time he's taken the field this season.
