Baseball Game Preview: Holy Cross Tigers vs. Belle Chasse Cardinals

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Holy Cross Tigers face off against Belle Chasse Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Holy Cross will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

While Holy Cross didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Belle Chasse with a sharp 8-2 victory on Friday. Considering the Tigers have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Matthew Watson tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Dom Pellegrin was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of William Andrade, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Holy Cross pushed their record up to 14-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Belle Chasse, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.
