Basketball Recap: Hamilton Takes a Loss

Hamilton lost against Kirby back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hamilton Wildcats were outmatched by the Kirby Cougars and fell 82-53. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 347th, while the Cougars are ranked 132nd).

Hamilton's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Kirby, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamilton will face off against Melrose at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hamilton is facing Melrose at the right time seeing as Melrose is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Kirby, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Soulsville at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Kirby knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 19 contests -- so hopefully Soulsville likes a good challenge.
