Volleyball Recap: James Logan Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Moreau Catholic, James Logan was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Kennedy Titans. The victory continues a trend for the Colts in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won seven in a row.

James Logan had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-16, 25-17, 27-25.

Isaac Gloria paced James Logan's offense, picking up 15 kills. Gloria got some help from Jerick Pineda and his 23 assists. Gloria was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

The win got James Logan back to even at 2-2. As for Kennedy, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

Looking ahead, James Logan will take on Livermore in a tournament on Saturday. As for Kennedy, they will be playing at home against Newark Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kennedy is facing Newark Memorial at the right time seeing as Newark Memorial is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
