Baseball Recap: Winfield Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Winfield can now relate to. They fell just short of the Gordo Green Wave by a score of 5-3 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the ninth time they've come up short against the Green Wave this season, with their most recent loss being a 5-4 defeat on Friday.

Winfield has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 35-10 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Gordo, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 32-17 record this season.

Winfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gordo has already played their next contest (against Glenwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
