Football Recap: Tyler Legacy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Cason Gray and DJ Owens

Tyler Legacy extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 2-8. They lost 48-27 to the Forney Jackrabbits. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-8.

Tyler Legacy's loss came despite strong showings from DJ Owens and Cason Gray. Owens picked up 151 receiving yards and one TD, while Gray threw for 187 yards and one touchdown on perfect 13-for-13 passing.

As for Forney, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2. Given their advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Tyler Legacy is ranked 265th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Javian Osborne had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 145 yards and three scores, while also picking up 58 receiving yards. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 145 rushing yards. Caleb Chrest was another key player, throwing for 207 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Tyler Legacy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Forney, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-28 victory against Rockwall-Heath on the 6th.
