For the first time this season, Prairie will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to challenge the Kelso Hilanders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Prairie is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

Prairie will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Battle Ground, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Falcons blew past the Tigers 8-1 on Thursday. Considering the Falcons have won three contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Mackenzie Moore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

On the hitting side, Prairie let Kellie Cady and Ashlee Porter run wild. Cady went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Porter scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Carlie Palmer also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, while it was Kelso who put the first runs on the board on Friday, it was Camas who put up more. The Hilanders fell just short of the Papermakers by a score of 8-7.

Prairie is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Kelso, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
