Softball Recap: Belfast Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Belfast waltzed into their match on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Erskine Academy Eagles by a score of 4-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Jordyn MacKay was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Belfast let Gracie Moore and Katience Parenteau run wild. Moore went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while Parenteau went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Parenteau is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Belfast's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Erskine Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Coming up, Belfast will be playing at home against John Bapst Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Erskine Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Maine Central Institute at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
