Basketball Recap: St. Paul's Prep Takes a Loss

St. Paul's Prep suffered their biggest loss since January 19th on Saturday. They took a blow against the Azle Christian Fighting Crusaders, falling 44-14. The game marked the Lions 's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the defeat, St. Paul's Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Isaiah Price posted five points along with six rebounds and six steals. Price has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last four times he's played.

St. Paul's Prep has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Azle Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, St. Paul's Prep and Joshua Christian will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Azle Christian, they will host Weatherford Express HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Weatherford Express HomeSchool's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
