Baseball Game Preview: Scotia-Glenville Tartans vs. Broadalbin-Perth Patriots

For the second straight game, Scotia-Glenville will face off against Broadalbin-Perth. The Tartans will venture away from home to square off against the Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Scotia-Glenville has four straight victories, Broadalbin-Perth has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Scotia-Glenville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Broadalbin-Perth 11-3 on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

In other batting news, Scotia-Glenville got a massive performance out of Nicholas Pedone, who went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Pedone is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Steven Nicklas, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Scotia-Glenville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Broadalbin-Perth only posted an OBP of .406.

Scotia-Glenville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Broadalbin-Perth, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
