Nitro won against Oak Hill on Thursday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Wildcats walked away with a 12-9 victory over the Elk Valley Christian Eagles. The win was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on three straight.
McKenzie Hyatt was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Hyatt was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zoe Hyatt, who went 1-for-3 with four runs and two stolen bases. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Lyndi Campbell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Nitro pushed their record up to 6-12 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Elk Valley Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Nitro wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-0 victory against Wirt County on the 19th. As for Elk Valley Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-10 win against Cross Lanes Christian on the 24th.
