Softball Recap: Chaffey Wins Going Away Against Nogales

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chaffey). They never let the Nogales Nobles get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory on Wednesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Tigers with their most commanding win of the season.

Gabriela Lomeli was a standout: she scored three runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Celest Navarrette, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Chaffey hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nogales struck out nine times.

The win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Nogales, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Chaffey will welcome Montclair at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Montclair has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something Chaffey will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Nogales, they are taking a road trip to challenge Los Altos at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
