Cosby is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Powhatan. Cosby put the hurt on Powhatan with a sharp 9-2 win on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Titans have posted against the Indians since May 27, 2021.
Kam Brown was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Brown was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Jill Bossler and Kammie Walter did most of the damage at the plate: Bossler scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Walter scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Camryn Shaver, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Cosby hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Powhatan struck out 11 times.
Meanwhile, everything went Clover Hill's way against Monacan on Tuesday as Clover Hill made off with a 17-7 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cavaliers.
Like Cosby, Clover Hill also got a great game from a two-way player: Brianna Miller. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Miller was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Cayla Wright was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Madison Hayes was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
