Recap: East Texas Homeschool Sports Chargers vs. Fort Worth THESA Riders
Even though The Fort Worth THESA Riders scored an imposing 40 points on Friday, the East Texas Homeschool Sports Chargers still came out on top. East Texas Homeschool Sports took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 76-40 victory over Fort Worth THESA. Given East Texas Homeschool Sports' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Fort Worth THESA is ranked 96th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Connor Pendergast went supernova for East Texas Homeschool Sports, rushing for 183 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry, and also picking up 36 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracyn Trimble, who gained 141 total yards and three touchdowns.
East Texas Homeschool Sports' victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Fort Worth THESA, they have fallen quite a ways from their 10-3 record last season and are now at 3-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Texas Homeschool Sports will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Westlake Academy at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Westlake Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Fort Worth THESA, they will head out on the road to face off against Lubbock T at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lubbock T is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
