Basketball Recap: Crimson Cliffs Drops Season-High Score on Cedar

Crimson Cliffs lost against Cedar back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Crimson Cliffs Mustangs took a 67-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cedar Reds. One positive for the Mustangs, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Crimson Cliffs lost, don't look at Josie Myers. Despite the final result, she went 9 for 15 on her way to 24 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Myers a new career-high in points. Zee Brinagh was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Crimson Cliffs was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Crimson Cliffs is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7. As for Cedar, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Crimson Cliffs will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Cedar and Carbon will round out the year against one another at at 4:00 p.m. on December 27th.
