Baseball Recap: Mountain View Has No Trouble Against Evergreen

Mountain View barely beat Evergreen the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Thunder put the hurt on the Plainsmen with a sharp 13-4 win on Thursday. The Thunder have beaten the Plainsmen the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Plainsmen has come to flipping the script.

Mountain View got a massive performance out of Nick Wilcox, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. The Thunder are undefeated when Wilcox posts two or more runs, but 6-11 otherwise. Logan Josephsen was another key player, going 3-for-4 with five RBI and one run.

Mountain View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Mountain View's record now sits at 9-11. As for Evergreen, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.

Coming up, Mountain View will head out to square off against Camas at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Evergreen, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Battle Ground at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Plainsmen's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
