Recap: Neumann Celtics vs. Countryside Cougars

The Neumann Celtics have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 22 points or more this season. They took their contest on the road on Thursday with ease, bagging a 58-30 victory over Countryside. With Neumann ahead 45-10 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Neumann's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mylee Van de wouw, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Sophia McCartney, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Countryside lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kennedy Brooks, who scored 14 points. The match was Brooks' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Ally Wright was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.

Neumann pushed their record up to 13-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Countryside, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-2.

Neumann won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Weeki Wachee at 12:06 p.m. on January 5th. Weeki Wachee will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 135th, while Neumann is ranked 33rd). Countryside won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mitchell at 9:06 a.m. on January 5th. Hopefully Mitchell focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Thursday.
