Recap: Daingerfield Tigers vs. New Diana Eagles
The Daingerfield Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 65-31 loss at the hands of New Diana. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Daingerfield in their matchups with New Diana: they've now lost seven in a row.
New Diana's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Starrmia Dixon led the charge by scoring 25 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbie Shafer, who went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 1 assists.
Daingerfield bumped their record down to 1-11 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for New Diana, their win ended a eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-14.
Daingerfield will take on Gladewater at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Gladewater is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for New Diana, they will head out on the road to face off against Hughes Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hughes Springs is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
