On Thursday, the Hampton Hawks beat the Shelton Bulldogs 45-34. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Jack Bullis was his usual excellent self, rushing for 244 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry, and also throwing for 42 yards and a touchdown. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2023.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Hampton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 254 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Shelton still got an impressive performance from Ben Myers, who rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 42 receiving yards and a touchdown. Myers' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 150 rushing yards dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Reilly Jensen, who gained 97 total yards and a touchdown.

Hampton's record is now 4-1. As for Shelton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hampton will square off against Stuart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Shelton, they will face off against Santee at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shelton is facing Santee at the right time seeing as Santee is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
