Football Recap: Havelock Piles Up the Points Against West Carteret + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Havelock, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the West Carteret Patriots 48-14. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won eight in a row.

Jayden Howard had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 218 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. He is becoming a predictor of Havelock's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 0-4 when he doesn't).

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Havelock was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 307 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Havelock didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Khimani Nolan, Andrew WIlliams, and Jacob Vasquez picked up one apiece. Nolan got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dallas Riggan, who picked up 100 receiving yards and one touchdown. D'Jabrien Murray also helped out with an impressive 80 receiving yards.

Havelock picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for West Carteret, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Havelock will welcome Dixon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for West Carteret, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northside - Jacksonville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
