Volleyball Recap: Austin's Winning Streak Snapped at 14 Games

After a string of 14 wins, Austin's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Brewer Patriots by a score of 2-1. The Black Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Charlie Barnes paced Austin's offense, picking up 17 kills. Barnes got some help from Maggie Jae Marsh and her 19 assists.

Austin's loss dropped their record down to 32-5. As for Brewer, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-10 record this season.

Austin will welcome Bob Jones at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brewer, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Faith Academy on the 27th.
