The Elma Eagles will take on the La Center Wildcats on Saturday. Elma is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season.

If La Center heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Elma took over last week. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, Elma made off with a 49-48 win over Montesano.

Elma's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaac McGaffey, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 16 points along with five boards and three blocks. McGaffey has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. Traden Carter was another key player, putting up 13 points and five steals.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when La Center duked it out with Seton Catholic on Wednesday. La Center lost 85-60 to Seton Catholic. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost seven in a row.

Elma's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-8. As for La Center, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 14-8.

Elma didn't have too much breathing room in their match against La Center in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 65-59 victory. Will Elma repeat their success, or does La Center have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
