Softball Game Preview: Tulia Hornets vs. Childress Bobcats

Tulia hasn't had much luck against Childress recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Tulia will look to defend their home field against Childress at 4:30 p.m. Tulia has given up an average of 14.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tulia is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They lost 17-1 to Bushland.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Childress duked it out with River Road on Monday. Childress fell 5-2 to River Road. The loss continues a trend for the Bobcats in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Ansley Parr was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one double.

Childress' defeat dropped their record down to 9-9-1. As for Tulia, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.
