South River has no trouble against Dunellen

Recap: South River Rams vs. Dunellen Destroyers

The South River Rams entered their tilt with the Dunellen Destroyers with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. South River strolled past Dunellen with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 40-23. That's another feather in the cap for South River, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Dunellen's loss came despite strong showings from Wendy Woll and Brielle Villanueva-Jadotte. Woll scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Villanueva-Jadotte scored a point along with 11 rebounds and four steals. Villanueva-Jadotte has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last seven times she's played.

South River's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. As for Dunellen, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.

South River will head out on the road to take on Sayreville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dunellen, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Somerset Tech at 2:00 p.m. Somerset Tech comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
