Softball Recap: Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Chardon, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Lions had just enough and edged out the Hilltoppers 5-4. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by just one run.

Alex Mould spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits.

At the plate, Sienna Steinmetz was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

The win was the fourth in a row for Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, bringing their record up to 6-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Chardon, they dropped their record down to 10-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin will take on Beaumont School at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions are facing the Blue Streaks at the right time seeing as the Blue Streaks are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Chardon, they will challenge Mayfield at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.67 runs per game on average), something the Hilltoppers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
