Basketball Game Preview: Federal Hocking Lancers vs. Trimble Tomcats

The Federal Hocking Lancers will face off against the Trimble Tomcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Two weeks ago, Federal Hocking lost to New Hope Christian Academy at home by a 66-47 margin. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 739th, while the Statesmen are ranked 293rd).

Meanwhile, Trimble was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 75-51 to Caldwell. The match was a close 33-30 at the break, but unfortunately for the Tomcats it sure didn't stay that way.

Federal Hocking's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Trimble, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Everything came up roses for Federal Hocking against Trimble in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the team secured an 83-52 win. Will Federal Hocking repeat their success, or does Trimble have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
