Volleyball Recap: Carson Senators vs. Bishop Manogue Miners
After flying high against Damonte Ranch last Thursday, Carson came back down to earth. The Senators fell 3-1 to the Bishop Manogue Miners on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Senators in their meetings with the Miners: they've now lost three in a row.
Carson started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-19, 27-25, 25-17.
Abby Franco paced Carson's offense, picking up 13 kills. Franco got some help from Julie Salanoa and her 22 assists. Salanoa was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Carson's defeat dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Bishop Manogue, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.
