Baseball Recap: Grove Has No Trouble Against Locust Grove

Grove won the last time they faced Locust Grove and things went their way on Monday too. The Ridgerunners blew past the Pirates 12-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ridgerunners.

Silas Roberts tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gavin Wyatt, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Aidan Davis was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Grove's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Locust Grove, they moved to 10-11 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Grove will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pirates: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
