Basketball Game Preview: Lawrence Central Bears vs. Dixie Heights Colonels

The Lawrence Central Bears will head out on the road to square off against the Dixie Heights Colonels on Saturday. One thing working in Lawrence Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Lawrence Central is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Fort Wayne Snider: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Bears blew the Panthers out of the water with a 68-32 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Bears had established a 31-point advantage.

Lawrence Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lola Lampley, who posted 21 points along with six boards and five assists. Those 21 points gave Lampley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ke'Adriah Butler, who went 8-for-11 to rack up 23 points.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Lawrence Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Dixie Heights beat Grant County 46-40 on Wednesday.

Lawrence Central's record is now 5-0. As for Dixie Heights, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
