Southwest EC hasn't had much luck against Brawley recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Eagles will take on the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Southwest EC will be strutting in after a win while Brawley will be coming in after a loss.
Southwest EC's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Central. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Nicole Verdugo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaydence Wiewel, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Aaliyah Booth also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Southwest EC kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central only managed two hits.
Meanwhile, Brawley fell victim to Calexico and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 6-0. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Brawley also got a good showing from Arriana Garcia, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Garcia gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in February.
Southwest EC is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for Brawley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
Southwest EC took their win against Brawley when the teams last played on Friday by a conclusive 13-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
