Volleyball Recap: Little Chute Takes a Loss

Little Chute was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the De Pere Redbirds. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Redbirds when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-6.

Audrey Butkovich paced Little Chute's offense, picking up three kills. Butkovich got some help from Leah Vanden Hogen and her four assists.

De Pere can attribute much of their success to Mallory Derenne, who had 15 digs and six assists. Those six assists gave Derenne a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucetta Dwyer, who had nine assists and seven digs.

Little Chute's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for De Pere, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-15.

Little Chute wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Seymour on the 11th. As for De Pere, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Green Bay Southwest on the 11th.
